Fresh air exhaust

An exhaust system that injects engine fumes into the propeller wash and underwater, dramatically lowering carbon monoxide around the rider.

Fresh air exhaust (FAE) reroutes a boat's exhaust gases so they are injected into the prop wash and pushed down and away from the boat, rather than venting at the transom where riders are. By moving the fumes away from the burble behind the boat, FAE systems have been reported to cut carbon monoxide levels around the rider by at least 90 percent.

Many dedicated wake boats either ship with downward or underwater exhaust or can be retrofitted with FAE, making them substantially safer for the close-in riding wakesurfing requires.
