Swim Platform
The flat deck at the stern of a wake boat where surfers stage and from which the wave forms, and the mounting point for some wave-shaping hull extensions.
The swim platform is the flat deck mounted across the transom of a wake boat. Surfers stage on or beside it before dropping into the wave, and it forms the immediate boundary at the back of the wave pocket. Some surf systems mount their hardware here—Nautique's Waveplate deploys from beneath the swim step, and Tige's Convex VX hull extension attaches to the swim platform.
The swim platform is also a focal point of wakesurf safety: because exhaust and the propeller are both near it, surfers must never linger on or behind it while the engine runs, owing to carbon-monoxide and propeller hazards.
