Boat setup
Bow Rise
How high the boat's bow sits out of the water at surf speed, a trim characteristic tuned with ballast and the wedge to shape the wave's length and steepness.
Bow rise describes the running attitude of the front of the boat—how high the bow lifts at wakesurf speed. It is a function of trim, governed by ballast distribution and devices like the wedge or trim plate. More bow rise (stern dropped) generally yields a taller, steeper, shorter wave, while a flatter, lower bow lengthens and mellows the wave.
Deploying a Power Wedge drops the stern and adjusts how the bow rides; the deeper down positions lengthen the wave face. Tuning bow rise alongside ballast and the surf system is central to dialing in a given hull's best wave.
