Speed Control
An electronic system that holds a precise, preset boat speed regardless of load, water conditions, or driver input—critical for consistent wave shape while wakesurfing.
Speed control is a precision system that maintains a set boat speed automatically. PerfectPass is a well-known GPS-based speed control for inboard ski and wake boats: the driver presets the speed, throttles up, and once the target is reached the system takes over, holding the speed to within plus or minus half a mph regardless of boat load, water conditions, or driver input.
Consistent speed is essential for wakesurfing because even small speed changes alter the wave's shape and push. Speed control ranges from roughly 8 to over 40 mph, covering the slow 10-12 mph window typical of surfing, and modern boats include factory equivalents (e.g., Nautique LINC, Malibu) alongside aftermarket systems like PerfectPass.
