Wetsuit

A neoprene rubber suit worn to keep the rider warm in cold water and air.

A wetsuit is a layer of thick rubber (neoprene) that encompasses the body to keep riders warm in cold conditions. Wakesurfers in cooler climates or early and late season wear wetsuits to extend their riding time and stay comfortable, since being repeatedly in cold water during starts and falls saps body heat quickly.

Thickness is chosen to match water and air temperature, and in warm summer conditions many wakesurfers ride in just board shorts or a rash guard with their PFD.
