Board slide

Sliding the board 90 degrees across the crest of the wake for at least a second, tail crossing first with the rider facing the boat.

In a board slide the rider pivots the board sideways so it sits roughly 90 degrees across the top of the wake and slides along the crest for at least one second. In the standard board slide the tail of the board crosses over the wake first and the rider faces the boat. It is a balance-and-control trick borrowed from rail tricks in skateboarding and wakeboarding.

The board slide and its mirror, the lip slide, are signature skim-style maneuvers that show off a rider's ability to break the board free and ride it sideways across the foam without catching an edge.
