Integrated Ballast System (IBS)
A factory ballast configuration combining built-in hard tanks with plumbed auxiliary sacs, controlled by the boat's helm so the whole system fills and drains for a chosen surf side automatically.
An integrated ballast system is a factory-installed setup in which hard tanks and plumbed sacs work together under unified helm control. Many modern boats, such as Malibu Wakesetters, offer a factory Plug and Play (PnP) ballast option that uses the existing ballast pumps to fill and drain auxiliary bags in the rear compartments, supplementing the hard tanks.
Integrated systems pair with the surf system's software so that selecting a surf side automatically fills the right tanks and bags and deploys the wave shaper, getting the boat surf-ready in minutes. Manufacturers including Axis, Malibu, MasterCraft, Supra, and Tige employ this hard-tank-plus-plumbed-sac approach.
