Regular vs goofy
Your natural riding stance: regular means left foot forward, goofy means right foot forward.
Stance describes which foot a rider keeps toward the nose of the board. A regular rider stands with the left foot forward; a goofy rider stands with the right foot forward. Roughly two-thirds of riders are regular and about a third are goofy. A common way to find your natural stance is the push test: a friend gives you a gentle shove from behind and the foot you instinctively step forward with is your lead foot.
Stance determines which way is frontside and which is backside, and on a wake it influences whether you naturally favor the regular (left) or goofy (right) side of the wake. The term regular can also refer to a trick done in the rider's natural stance regardless of which foot is forward.
