Wave Face
The clean, unbroken sloping surface of the wave that a wakesurfer rides on, ahead of the curl and whitewash.
The face is the clean, unbroken surface of the wave that the rider rides on. On a boat-generated wakesurf wave it is the smooth, sloping wall between the trough and the breaking curl, and its steepness and length are exactly what ballast, trim, and the surf system are tuned to control.
A longer, well-shaped face gives more room to carve and generate speed, while a steeper face delivers more push. The rider stays on the face, in the pocket, ahead of the curl and whitewash.
