Surf style
A wakesurfing discipline using thicker, more buoyant, finned boards built to emulate ocean surfing, favoring deep carves and flowing turns on the wave face.
Surf-style wakesurfing was originally designed to recreate the feel of traditional surfing. Surf-style boards are thicker and more voluminous for extra buoyancy, carry more rocker for smoother wave control, and run at least two larger fins for stability and drive, which lets riders lay into powerful carves and ride the face fluidly.
The trade-off is that the extra fins and rocker make rotational tricks like spins and shuv-its harder, requiring more precise technique. Surf style is generally considered the more approachable starting point and the choice for riders who want a smooth, surf-like feel and big, drawn-out carves.
